Blanco Connecticut Toro Cigar Review

This 6×52 stick features a smooth, oily tan wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, soft even construction, triple cap and a rich hay aroma. First light reveals a perfect draw with medium bodied rich thick smoke output giving flavors of a sweet tobacco with a long pepper and spice finish. The first third goes in 20 minutes, with no flavor changes, and perfect construction. The ash hold on for a couple solid inches, smoke output is thick and rich. Ending at 1:10 the remainder of the stick as it warms, takes on a dry nutty flavor shift, still with a perfect draw and burn. In the end, a very flavorful smoke for a Connecticut for sure.

Great review. In reading older reviews, it sounds like they may have ramped up the blend a bit. I haven’t had any of the core lines, but the Nine is terrific. I’ve been wanting to try the new releases, but haven’t been able to get hold of any locally.

    Brian, Nice review!!!
Finally warming up here in Colorado! Nice to be on the patio again……
One request, could you add possible sources and probable pricing to your reviews?
    Stay well,,,,,

    • Hi, thanks for watching! I don’t add info like that simply because it varies so wildly around the country. I just leave it to each viewer to buy where they need to. The links section at the top is a good place to start, for ordering online, or you can ask the companies directly.

Bryan, the Premiere Selection Connecticut is no longer being produced. Perhaps you might want to indicate that. We have customers still asking for this cigar from this review.

Nice review Bryan, I may have to give this Connecticut a try, I’m usually all about the maduros but this review and my brother in laws prompting is gonna have to get me to widen out with some experimentation. Thanks!

Just curious, Bryan, but did they take the “Los” (as in Los Blancos) out of the brand name?

    • Yes they are re-branding right now, the new bands aren’t out yet.

I’m having a robusto out of a sampler right now, and it seems like we have two different cigars. Started out with a very snug draw and no sweeteness, more of a sharp mustiness. It finally opened up about halfway through. This is certainly not a cigar with typical Connecticut flavors, and although the burn has been amazingly sharp, straight, and slow, the ash is very weak, falling off unexpectedly after 1/2″ or so. I’ll have to try another one, as this one seems to a bit of a dud, but unfortunately, my B&M doesn’t carry this blend.

That being said, I will always have the Nine in my humidor. That one is a truly enjoyable smoke.

Thanks for this review – I usually buy cigars a lot more expensive than this, but based on your detailed review this sounded like something I would enjoy – and if good cigars can be found this cheap, it was worth a try, so I bought a box of robustos…

And I have not been disappointed! I have smoked three of these sticks now, and it is buy far the best cigar I have ever tried in this price range! Burn is perfect, draw is just like I enjoy it. And the flavour profile is right up my alley – never had so many great flavours in a conneticut before.

So thanks a lot – introducing me to this cigar has saved me a lot of money 😀 And thanks for your detailed descriptions, I find your review are always a very good indicator of how much I would enjoy the cigar 🙂

I have been watching these Blanco reviews since your post the other day about the discount on Blanco Cigars. I hadn’t heard of them before but they look like really interesting sticks. Even the connecticut seems like a complex cigar. Thanks!
