Gurkha Seduction Toro Cigar Review

This 6×55 stick features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, a rough double cap, even very firm feel and rich hay aroma. First light reveals a very snug draw with good smoke output, medium bodied flavor of musty oily earth and a long finish. The first third shows just a slightly musty and rough tobacco with the same on the finish. Ash only holds for an inch, falling in my lap, burn and draw are excellent. 50 minutes in at the 1/2 way point construction is flawless and flavors remain completely unchanged. Ending at 1:30 minutes the last third stayed with the heavy tobacco taste and at times showed a little sweetness on the draw, while the finish was still just damp tobacco aftertaste, lasting well to the next draw. Thank you very much to Gurkha Cigars for providing this sample for review!

Hmm, doesn’t very seductive to me. On the other hand, I have read some positive reviews. Even with differences in taste and perception, I wonder if there is a problem with consistency between batches, since your reviews are based on objective characteristics? I guess there’s only one way to find out, but at this point, I’m not inclined to seek it out.

    • That’s funny – i JUST got done posting this to a similar comment on YouTube:

Reading some other reviews around the web (some very suspiciously identical) I’m wondering if this was a dud, or they have a batch problem because I had a completely different experience than most, at least it seems. I know that 90% of the reviews for this were freebies, sent out to almost all bloggers by Gurkha. I do have these in another size and I have not tried them yet, so it will be interesting to compare later on.

Well, it is Gurkha after all. lol I’ve had a couple where I wondered if I was actually smoking the same cigar as the one in reviews I’ve read, and not in a good way.

I smoked a robusto tonight, thought it was pretty good. Bought it a local cigar store and put it in my humidor for a couple of days. I’m not good at describing flavors, but it had a nice sweet undertone with some woodsy, barnyard type flavors on top. Medium to full flavors, I would buy again…

Seems to me it’s hit or miss with the Gurkha line… although I have had some good luck with the thinner cigars in the Seduction line. Most of the thick Gurkha cigars I have smoked draw hard.

To me, this is a great night time smoke, after dinner, with an adult beverage 🙂 I really like most of the Gurkha line.

I enjoy finding the great Gurkhas, a lot to try in the line. Not a bad price for a fiver.

I am looking for a Gurkha Seduction but cannot find one if any of you could help let me know.

Some of the online vendors have them, but can’t advertise them because they’re supposed to be B&M only. You have to call or email them for availability and prices. Alternatively, if you have anything to trade, you might put in a request in the swap section here.

Steve: I don’t know if you found the Gurkha Seduction’s yet, but http://www.atlanticcigar.com has them. I’m a customer – and can order online. You may not see them advertised on the website, but call and they will let you order by phone. If you become a customer they will give you preferred access to them online, and you can order. They are a very popular brand and no one seems to offer them online – because the company originally only wanted top line cigar stores to offer them. Atlantic cigar is the only company that I ever found that sells them outside of cigar stores. Good Luck. Steve L., New York

Thank you. I had no idea. Do you think cigar.com would have them?

  • GurkhaMan

Hmmmm…The liquor store down the road has these. Been meaning to try them. Maybe not after this review. I’ve been unimpressed with Gurkha lately. May have to change my name. Lol

I see these at my local B&M, but for your review it sounds like they’re not something I want to drop the $12 that they’re charging for them.

Had one of these last week and thought it had great flavors of chocolate…….

Just had one. He was being nice! Really bad flavor. Not even 1/2 way and I chucked it. Why smoke a turd just for the money paid? Not worth the torture. Yikes….
