Gurkha Seduction Toro Cigar Review

This 6×55 stick features a dark chocolate mottled wrapper with minimal veins, tight invisible seams, a rough double cap, even very firm feel and rich hay aroma. First light reveals a very snug draw with good smoke output, medium bodied flavor of musty oily earth and a long finish. The first third shows just a slightly musty and rough tobacco with the same on the finish. Ash only holds for an inch, falling in my lap, burn and draw are excellent. 50 minutes in at the 1/2 way point construction is flawless and flavors remain completely unchanged. Ending at 1:30 minutes the last third stayed with the heavy tobacco taste and at times showed a little sweetness on the draw, while the finish was still just damp tobacco aftertaste, lasting well to the next draw. Thank you very much to Gurkha Cigars for providing this sample for review!

Hmm, doesn’t very seductive to me. On the other hand, I have read some positive reviews. Even with differences in taste and perception, I wonder if there is a problem with consistency between batches, since your reviews are based on objective characteristics? I guess there’s only one way to find out, but at this point, I’m not inclined to seek it out.

That’s funny – i JUST got done posting this to a similar comment on YouTube:

Reading some other reviews around the web (some very suspiciously identical) I’m wondering if this was a dud, or they have a batch problem because I had a completely different experience than most, at least it seems. I know that 90% of the reviews for this were freebies, sent out to almost all bloggers by Gurkha. I do have these in another size and I have not tried them yet, so it will be interesting to compare later on.

I smoked a robusto tonight, thought it was pretty good. Bought it a local cigar store and put it in my humidor for a couple of days. I’m not good at describing flavors, but it had a nice sweet undertone with some woodsy, barnyard type flavors on top. Medium to full flavors, I would buy again…
