Alec Bradley Black Market Robusto Cigar Review

This 5.25×52 cigar features a dark brown spongy wrapper with slight tooth, minimal veins, tight almost invisible seams, a rich oily sheen and almost syrupy chocolate and tobacco aroma. First light reveals a slightly snug draw with plenty of rich thick medium bodied smoke putting off flavors of a dry almost peppery tobacco with a smooth oily mouthfeel and finish. The first third shows the smoke output and body coming down just a touch while the draw opens up to normal. Flavors had a bit of smooth chocolate for a few minutes but dropped it by the end of the first third, just leaving a smooth creamy textured tobacco with a little pepper flavor and long oily finish. 40 minutes in the ash drops off right at the 1/2 way point, flavor is up to a medium body, smoke output has increased and flavors remain unchanged. Ending at 1:10 minutes the last third showed no flavor changes, only needing a quick relight just after the band. Thank you very much to viewer Cesar for generously sending this for review!

I’ll have to pick up one of these to try. It sounds pretty good and the price is right, too.

The churchill is awesome. One of my absolute favorites. Smooth, creamy, oily, coffee, chocolate, white pepper, very florally foot smoke. Highly recommend!

  • Just received a box of Churchills. While I found it to be a very enjoyable smoke, I prefer my Rocky Patel Old World Reserves.
That being said, the Black Markets have been placed in my “Saturday Night Humidor” along with the Rocky’s.

Bryan… another spot on review – I also enjoy Alec Bradley Black Market robusto. Always have a few in my humidor!

i love this cigar, probably my favorite Alec Bradley blend. I bought 2 of the special St. Patrick’s day versions of this cigar the Filthy Hooligan and I am trying to save them for next March and its so tempting since I know haw good this version is. great review.

I found cig to be exceptionally smooth but not very complex nor strong. I picked up lots of earth notes and at times a sweet mint which I had not encountered in cigars prior. I would have this again.

it sounds like i need to pick one up after work now has anybody smoked the black market filthy hooligen ? just wondering if its any good before i buy one

Filthy Hooligan was great, flavor and smoke-wise, but that green claro/candela wrapper was ultra thin and ripped if you looked at it funny. I kept smoking it because it was tasty, but it was a wrestling match with a wrapper that slowly but surely continued to crack and unravel, until I had to let it end just before the end of the 2nd third because it was reduced to green confetti and a binder-only cigar.

My firendly local cigar shop gave me the last one in the shop. I’m goin to try and keep it for next year. Hopefully the wrapper will stay on until them

Unfortunately, this one went straight from the B&M walk-in to a ziploc with two Boveda packs to getting cut, so humidity wasn’t an issue. I won’t say that my cutter wasn’t at issue (not the sharpest $4 double guillotine), but it was just extra, extra thin. Be super careful and enjoy!

    “Buttermilk biscuit” ash…I like it!

  • Boucher207

  • koolaid540

I’ve gotten a few of these in samplers packs but they’ve just been sitting in my humidors but your review makes me want to try them. I love pepper flavors.

Doesn’t sound like a bad stick for the price. I tend to smoke in the evening when I can devote my full attention to the cigar so i usually like a more flavorful complex stick. This sounds great for the golf course though.

Scored 5 toros online for 15. Bucks.
Will see how they fare after some resting

  • D-Roc

This stick is fantastic! I had the pefecto size and loved it all the way done to the nub. I’ve got a five pack on the way and paid only three forty-five each.
