Partagas Black Label Bravo Cigar Review

This 4.5×54 cigar features a very dark brown oily wrapper with a firm slightly rough feel, tight invisible seams, one minor vein, triple cap and rich oily tobacco aroma. First light reveals a very snug draw, almost unsmokeable. The flavors are mild-medium, very oily and chewy with a thick sweet tobacco taste and long finish. The first third develops to a medium body of slightly sweet, very thick and savory leather with a long smooth oily finish. It’s like a combination of tobacco and meat flavors. 40 minutes in at the 1/2 way point flavors shift a bit, bringing down the meatiness and adding a bit of deep earth and pepper especially on the finish. After taking the band off draw improved slightly, although performance is still fine with the snug draw. Ending at 1:15 the last third shifted to all deep oily earth and tobacco with a heavy sweetness through the finish. Performance was very good all the way down to the nub.

    Hey Bryan,
Just smoked my first Partagas Black last night. Very good cigar i thought! Going to be a box of these in my humi soon! I had the magnifico and the draw on mine was perfect! The flavor profile to me was very similar to the CU-Avana Punisher. Great review!

this cigar reminded me of the CAO mx2. nice pepper in the beginning. and i don’t know if it was chocolate or sweet tobacco flavors right after the pepper. but what i do know is that i look forward to smoke some more of these.

I just had one of these last night, I didn’t have the tight draw that you got, I also didn’t get nearly the smoke time you got from it. But the flavors I got were really similr to what you described, the only thing that I would add is that I got some leather flavors in mine. It reminded me a lot of a milder version of the Camacho Tripple Maduro.

This cigar is one of my absolute favorites. I highly recommend smoking this cigar with a nice glass of Gold Label Reserve. You will not regret it. The drink is smooth enough where in my opinion it does not interfere with the great taste of the cigar. Let me know what you guys think. 🙂
