Man O’ War Puro Authentico Corona Cigar Review

This 5×42 cigar features a dark brown wrapper with small veins, tight invisible seams, a very firm oily slightly toothy wrapper and a sweet soapy aroma. It also has a closed foot and pigtail cap. First light reveals a perfect draw with copious amounts of thick chewy smoke, medium-full body flavors of a sweet deep earth with a citrus zing and pepper on the finish. The first third has very unique flavors of a salty meat, a deep earth and a long finish of black and cayenne pepper with an oily sweetness left on the lips. Body is almost full with rich thick smoke and everything is butter smooth. 15 minutes in the heat REALLY builds! It’s exactly like eating very hot chicken wings and smearing the sauce all over your lips. It builds, reaching a peak about 20 seconds after the draw. 30 minutes in the draw flavors shift to a deep oily peppery earth, and the finish changes dropping much of the spicy heat for a big black pepper zing that washes over the tongue. The burn and draw are perfect and the ash held on solid to the 1/2 way point. 45 minutes in I note that this a dyed cigar, and it’s getting on my fingers, lips and shirt. Ending at 1 hour the last third showed no further changes. Thank you very much to YouTube viewer Juvethegreat86 for sending me this to try!

These things rock. Just got a box recently and was blown away. Didn’t notice the dye (that does bother me a little), but no escaping the fact that these things are flavor bombs with a nice slow burn. Great review!

I tried one of these that came in my Cigar of the Month club. Didn’t have the issue with the dye but did enjoy the stick. Thanks for the review. I know that the blends often make the cigar but I’ve really enjoyed some of the puros as well.

I always wanted to try Man O’ War. I’ll give this one a go based on the flavor profiles since it sounds more up my alley. Thanks for the review!

Ordered a few based off this review, just tried my first one and what a great smoke. Love the pepper zing and great flavors. Thanks again for another great review.

Bryan, was this the maduro or the habano?
These are one of the best cigars I’ve smoked I have a box of habano and a box of maduro. They fairly inexpensive too.

Since the maduro wasn’t released till 2012 and this looks like the habano I’d say it’s the habano. Couldn’t agree with you more I thought this was a great stick for the money. Just got a box for less than $40, can’t beat that.

I’ve had a few of these sitting in my humidors that I got in samplers, your review makes me want to pull one out and to have tonight.

Had my first one last night, great treview Bryan I got very similar flavors. The only major differences between your review and what I had is I didn’t think mine was nearly as spicy as you described yours and I didn’t notice the die on mine.
