Padron 6000 Cigar Review

This 5.5×53 torpedo stick offers a satin dark tan wrapper with slight tooth, minimal veins, invisible seams, firm tight construction and a peppery, dry barnyard aroma. First light reveals silky smooth smoke, medium-full bodied flavors of a peppery earth with a touch of sweetness. Draw is perfect and smoke output is plentiful. The first third develops to a medium body of dry peppery soft tobacco, with good smoke output and a very parched mouthfeel. The 2nd third dies down a bit more to a mild-medium continuing the smooth coffee with a slight earth and pepper with creamy smoke. It’s like a 1964 on 1/2 power. Ending at 55 min, the last third developed in to a deeper roast coffee with a touch of sweetness, still very smooth.

Interesting comparison – “…1964 at 1/2 power”, although you worried me with your comment that it has a “parched mouth feel”.

So, aye or nay, would you buy these again?

  • Yes I would.

Nice review Bryan, I love that whole series, and always have a few in my humidor. Not overly amazing, but for the price they never dissapoint me.

Could you explain what the “patch” is? Is it a tear in the wrapper or an actual applied piece of wrapper?
Keep up the great work. I really look forward to your reviews.

    • A patch is simply a small piece of leaf glued in place over a hole or tear.

Hi Brian, I was just wondering if you retrohale while smoking cigars. I started doing it and it has changed my whole smoking experience. thanks for your time

    • I do naturally a little bit but not a lot. It stuffs me up

    Hay Bryan,
When will you review your Padron 4000?
I recently purchased a box of these and I’m wondering what you think of them.

Great review. My thoughts exactly on this cigar. Great smoke.

    Hi Bryan,

I love the review, I just got a box of these in and can’t wait to try them. I also got a box of the 5000 in Maduro.

Strong cigars do not normally bother me but this one knocked me a fair bit in the first inch even though I had just eaten. Was still a fantastic cigar which I still managed to finish.

I was wondering if you had every smoked one or would be planning to review one?

These are some ugly lookin cigars. In very interested in trying more though bc the favors everyone says they taste sound like something I would enjoy. Only had the 2000 so far. Got a 3000 in my humidor. Any thought on either of those?

Just got one of this today came highly recommended by the B&M employee, he asked me a lot of questions before making his recommendations. As I am new to cigars an haven’t had anything above the dollar cigarillos from the gas station I was very pleased with going to that B&M specialy since he did not try to sell me the most expensive cigars or give me something that I am not prepared for.

@LunchBox87km I think you’ll be surprised by how stark a contrast that cigar will be relative to gas station sticks. Going to b&m’s are definitely the best way to begin in my opinion, and it certainly worked for me. Keep enjoying yourself with great sticks!
