Cusano 59 Rare Cameroon Toro Cigar Review

This 6.5×54 stick offers a dark brown, satin wrapper with slight tooth, a paper bag feel, minimal veins, invisible seams and a light tobacco aroma. First light reveals a medium-full body of creamy, soft tobacco flavors with a rich thick smoke, creamy texture and bit of sweetness and pepper on the finish. The first third continues the first light impression, staying strong and well blended with a perfect draw and burn. Slowing down a bit, the 2nd third produces much the same flavors adding a touch of bready yeast at points with a little leather although it comes and goes. Ending at 1:15 the last third was consistent with the 2nd providing a very smooth experience. Thank you very much to Tobacco Depot in Crystal River, FL for generaously sending this in for review, I greatly appreciate it guys!

I’ve really come to enjoy Cameroon wrappers as well. I started with the CAO Cameroon, and the Cusano is a step up. Any others that you can point me towards? I really enjoy your website. Tons of information for someone like me who is fairly new to cigars.

    • This is my fav so far! Keep watching and reading for more – and look at my favorites list on the right for suggestions.

Another one to add to my list. I’m gonna need to buy another humidor so that I can add more to my collection… Thanks for the review! I think there would be a lot of great smokes I would have missed if I didn’t see your reviews!

Sounds and looks good. I have only tried one Cusano and that was the Cuvee 151 which I like a lot. I will be looking for the 59 Rare Cameroon. Thanks for the review.

I would also recommend the Cusano Sungrown. Preferrably in the Churchill size. What a great smoke.

If you enjoy cameroons a lot. La Aurora makes some of the best cameroons out there. I like purchasing bundles of the La Aurora Cameroon 2nds. They smoke like premiums, but have a non premium cost. Just phenomenal smokes. If you get a chance I would smoke the La Aurora Classic, and their regular toro size maduro. I’ve never had a bad smoke from La Aurora. Sorry to see you had a bad experience with the maduro you picked up. :/

I came across this gem yesterday. This was a great enjoyable smoke. The burn was consistent all the way through the finish and have nothing bad to say about it.

I’m putting this one in my favorite list for Cameroons.

I got a 10 pack of these after seeing this review and i’ve since had 4 of them. They are amazingly consistent and exactly as described. Great work Bryan this is one of my favorites.
