Xikar HC Series Criollo Cigar Review

This 6×46 stick offers a dark tan very slightly toothy wrapper with minimal veins, invisible seams, a double cap and small pigstail twist, with a slight barnyard aroma. First light reveals a very good draw and smoke production, a slight sweetness, lots of smooth oily peppery tobacco. Body is a nice medium-full giving very flavorful draws every time. Reaching the 1/2 way point 30 min in, flavors transitioned to a smooth, dry tobacco with a slightly sweet licorice quickly fading to a black pepper flavor without any of the spice. The last third ended at just over 1 hour, transitioning to a creamy and smooth mocha – soft coffee and a hint of chocolate, very silky. Thank you very much to Xikar for sending this sample for review!

Nice touch using the Xikar cutter & lighter! Way to keep it all in the family.

Nice review. Since you’re already reviewed the original Man O’ War and the MOW Ruination, any plans to review the new MOW Virtue?

Wow! I purchased the Xikar HC Criollo via the Hidden Treasures Sampler at Smoke Inn. Big Thanks to Bryan and Smoke Inn! What a fantastic cigar! I picked up on a lot of different flavors that weren’t mentioned in this review but I’m a cigar noob so I haven’t smoked more than about 30 different brands. Still have to develop my palate. LOVED IT! Can’t wait to smoke the rest of them.

Gotta say this was a real treat in the Hidden Treasure sampler! I really enjoyed the flavors the wrapper was giving off though the blend was also complex. Definitely had a great smooth taste with a subtle touch of spice. A solid 8 in my book, a cigar I would recommend for those looking for a good and flavorful daily smoke.

I tried this one when I got your hidden trasure sampler, I was really impressed! I never would have thought that a company like Xikar would make great sticks too, but that one has made me want to go out and try some other stuff in their line.

I also tried this one via the hidden treasures sampler. I gotta say this is the one I have been most impressed with of the ones I have tried in the sampler. If anybody is thinking about getting the sampler I would highly recommend it.
