Cuban Crafters Black Perfect Cutter Review

This is the 2nd version of the Perfect Cuter line from Cuban Crafters. Offering improvements on the original it has a black anodized aluminum body and handles over stainless steel blades, with a lifetime guarantee. The Perfect line stands out by using a backing plate that allows you to simply insert the cigar and cut without having to adjust the cigar for the right location. Pick one up at Cuban Crafters! Great review !!! Looks like a great cutter !!

  • I have a similarly designed cutter with the back plate that I’ve only been using for a few months. The thing I like about the Cuban Crafters cutters you reviewed is the hole in the back which makes it possible to cut a torpedo or a cigar with a pigtail…a very nice feature.

I wanted one for the longest time. There inexpensive and heard they work great but when the cutter is 20$ but the shipping is 35$ because I live in Canada they can keep there cutter.

  • Jeremie – email me your address 🙂

Thanks for the review Bryan. It is time for me to purchase a good cutter and I will try this one. It’s great to see you review the great products from Cuban Crafters. When I do get a chance to visit the Miami area I always make it a point to visit with them and spend an evening smoking one of their cigars, drinking some Café Cubano and just chatting with the very knowledgeable and friendly staff there. I purchased a nice humidor from them last year and the next time I visit, I will pick up the 2nd version of the Perfect Cuter.
I have been an avid cigar smoker for several years now and although I lurk on this and other cigar related sites, this is my first post ever. Thank you for your excellent website, for sharing all this information and for passing along your knowledge.

I was gifted the original Cuban Crafter Cutter and I love it. I am first and foremost a V Cut (cats eye) fan but the CC cutter makes it a no brainer when it comes to making the “perfect cut” on a cigar. There have been times where I have had to check the cap on some cigars to ensure that I didn’t screw it up but with this cutter it takes the guesswork and it’s almost idiot proof. If you can put the foot of a cigar into the cutter you have done the hardwork and then you just clip it,,,done. Not sure I’d have any interest in the second edition of this cutter as anything over a 60 RG is asking for TMJ problems.

  • Thanks for the review! i just got mine in the mail and i am loving it.

I cannot find these for sale anywhere any idea where to find them now?

Just got this cutter and it is great. Makes my other cutters kinda useless…sad

I ordered one of these right after I watched this video and when it came in it did not disappoint and I have had it for about a month and I truly believe it is a “perfect cutter”

  • MaxDuo

Somehow I didn’t notice your video for the old one.. but this would be a nice upgrade visually if I ever felt like it. I’ve only ever had to cut one 60 ring gauge with my regular perfect cutter so I wouldn’t have a huge desire for this one outside of the looks.

Not to mention I still have to be cheap, I went with the original and I’m plenty happy with it!

-Though I have seen a plastic one of these at a cigar shop. Doesn’t have the torpedo hole… doesn’t feel nearly as good either. I definitely wouldn’t want it.

Never even thought of smoking something bigger than a 60 ring gauge but its good to know I could if I had one of these. Sounds nice n hefty and very durable. Had a cheaper cutter that I barely used and it just fell apart so I guess I need something that is made better.

My wife is “surprising” me with this cutter for my birthday haha

  • zanlamb

I love the look of this. Its just a shame the shipping is more than double the cost of the cutter!!

  • zanlamb

Bryan i notice you still uses the original and not this version in your videos. Is there any particular reason for that?

  • Camshaft83

Have been interested in these since I seen you using one in your reviews. I used my friends and thought it was amazing so I ordered me one. That was back on June 26th and I have yet to receive it in the mail. My card has already been charged and my account says it is awaiting shipment. Sent them an email a couple days ago and haven’t heard back yet. Hopefully they get it to me soon as my cutter I’m currently using just broke;(

  • Leon

I love my original Cuban Crafters cutter. I’ve had it for a couple of years, and I bought it based on Bryan’s review. However, the sad part is, it makes my $60 Xikar cutter somewhat pointless… Oh well.
