J.L. Salazar Reserva Especial Torpedo Cigar Review

This 6.25×54 box pressed stick offered a medium chocolate, satin wrapper with a very firm feel. Draw was on the loose side but produced copious amounts of smoke all the way down with a very good burn, no issues. Flavors were medium bodied overall, with a very smooth blend of flavors including creamy leather, wood, touches of caramel and cherry, and a slight pepper wash on the finish. Total smoke time to the nub was 1 1/2 hours. A thank you goes out to Cuban Crafters for generously sending this for review! Photography by BG Pictures.

Great Review! thanks for everything, really glad you enjoyed it. Next month we will be getting the Maduro series of the JL Salazar. I will keep you posted.

Salazars are one of my favorite smokes of all time. I have one box of the torps, two of robusto, two of the toro, two of the churchill, and one of the maduro churchill! I love these things, but ironically the torp is the least flavorful of the vitolas. The churchill is simply incredible – blows away any Ashton VSG I’ve ever had. They are full-bodied but sooooo smooth.

Every Salazar I’ve had produces just an incredible amount of smoke with a fairly easy draw, which makes them really fun to smoke.

    Thanks for the review.
