Don Pepin Garcia ‘Blue’ Generosos Cigar Review

This 6×50 milk chocolate stick offered a slightly toothy but satiny wrapper, with a firm and slightly bumpy construction. Burn was almost razor sharp and the draw was absolutely perfect. Total burn time to the nub was 1:15 where it got hot for me. The second half especially produced great amounts of thick rich smoke, giving flavors of coffee, leather, sweetness on the first half, and a bit of a pepper zing on the short clean finish. A touch of cocoa came through at the 1/2 way point, and the transitions were very nice throughout. Thank you to Shuckins for trading with me for this stick! Photography by BG Pictures.

Great review Bryan, I haven’t had one of these in a long time and don’t recall much about it – sounds like one that is worth a revisit.

It’s nice to know that they let you smoke cigars on survivor island :) I have not ever had anything from DPG, so maybe this should be my first?

I have a few of the robustos of these in my humidor. I loved ‘em. They reminded me a lot of the RP Vintage 1990.

I had a DPG blue today, and I don’t know why I’m not smoking more of these. Just a solid cigar with a great taste.

I have these and the Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic 1979 Black Edition in my humidor and I must say that these are delicious smokes. Great burn and draw throughout, filled with flavors of cocoa and kind of a nutmeg spice in the middle and end. These are my favorites and great for the price. Like most Pepin Garcia’s, there is not a lot of sweetness that comes through, but what there is works very well.
    Thanks for the review.
