Ashton VSG Robusto Cigar Review

This 5.5 x 50 offered a notably smooth medium-full experience with a mix of several prominent flavors. The first 1/2 brought a bit of sweet tobacco and leather with the last bringing cocoa and leather with a touch of oil. The finish was very consistent with a long pepper zing over the tongue lasting well until the next draw. Total time to the band point at which it became a little warm and nutty was 1:15. The burn was very good all the way down never needing any attention, and the draw was perfect – on the loose side with just a touch of resistance. It billowed easy thick, rich smoke at every draw. Thank you very much to Ashton Cigars for generously donating this for review! Photography by BG Pictures.

    Hi Bryan,
good review. I enjoyed watching your review and then having a VSG myself.

Have you ever had a problem with it going out near the band point? I was holding the cigar by the band point for most of the smoke… do you think that it could have had something to do with it extinguishing? It was a VSG that went out.

Very nice review of one of my favorites. Thanks!

  • Thanks guys!

Nigel – no I haven’t ha a specific problem like that – the only thing a band could do is open up a hole if it tears the wrapper. It was probably just coincidence.

Great review Bryan. I have a question. Maybe a stupid one. I just smoked the same cigar. How is it that you can have a cigar last well over an hour. I take 2 maybe 3 draws a minute and never get more then 45 minutes. What am I doing!!??

maybe the way you’re drawing makes the cherry bigger than Bryan’s? idk!

I enjoyed this smoke, but it made me extremely green. LOL. I feel like I drank a case of Vodka! yuck.

Great review. This another wonderful cigar. I agree with your thoughts on this one

great review Bryan. this stick sounds enticing so i’ll probably look for some deals on them. Ashton is probably m favorite manufacturer. Where did you get that gray polo with the ashton logo on the chest? you’ve worn it in a few other videos

I really enjoyed this cigar, it was very pleasant and flavorful all the way.
I liked the strength was “just right”. 🙂

This is another one of my favorites. A young girl (probably about 18) smokes these in my B&M. She weighs next to nothing and can smoke with the big boys. Great cigar and great eye candy!

  • I’ve never had one of these. I need to try it.

That you do. I’ve only had one, but man it was good.

  • I finally bought one and I’m smoking it now. Very good.
