Camacho Triple Maduro Robusto Cigar Review

This 4.5×50 stick made of extra maduro leaves brought a rich, thick mouth feel of typical maduro flavors. The draw was excellent with just the right amount of resistance for a smooth slow draw. The burn was very good with no issues all the way down, almost razor flat. The flavors were medium bodied and consistent all the way from beginning to end and were deep, earthy, woody, smooth, heavy flavors. The finish was fairly short and clean surprisingly! Total smoke time was about 2 hours to the nub, very impressive for a 5×50 stick. This was part of the Black Band Project and was stick C. Photography by BG Pictures.

    Great review.

I really like this stick, but to me it seems a little more full bodied than medium (but then I AM a wuss), but it is a really nice smoke! I dont think I have ever had a burn problem with them either!

  • Try some of them I have labeled as full body to get a better perspective – it’s all relative 😉 The few that I have had that were truly full kicked my butt!

I smoked one of these a week or so ago. I really enjoyed it! I had the 11/18 and it seemed like it smoked faster than your Robusto… and i regretted it afterwards. It really made me heady. Next time I tackle one of these it’ll also be after I eat, and I’ll definately take more time on it. Great review on a great cigar!

  • Thank you!

Nice review, like you, I also received my first Camachos through the Black Band project. Triple Maduro was the first one I smoked, me and a buddy of mine lit ours up while I was smoking a brisket in my weber smoker. Great cigar, I think out of the 3 Camacho sent out, this one was my favorite. I really want to get a box of these, but I can’t bring myself to pay $200 for a box…yet.

Great review- triple maduro- what a concept… if you’re into full-bodied maddies, this thing is decadent. Like an oily, leathery, dark chocolatey meal.

I finally bought one of these at my local B&M with the idea in mind to put in my humi and forget about it for a few yrs to let it age. I was anticipating quite a bit of strength, is this not the case?

puffrey – I wouldn’t let them sit for too long. I didn’t think it was all that strong to begin with, just pretty full-bodied. The final one I smoked from my five pack of robustos had lost quite a bit of the rich flavors after a little more than a year and seemed a little flat, probably because it’s not terribly complex to begin with. I’ve heard others say the same thing elsewhere.

I know maduro wrapper dosen’t play to big of a part in flavor but whenever I see one that dark, all I can think of is dark chocolate.

I really enjoy these sticks, I get very similar flavors from them to what you describe, very oily and sweet with a bit of pepper. Good review.
