Bucanero Full Sail Maduro Cigar Review

This very nice box pressed 6×50 dark chocolate stick offered a great light tobacco pre-light aroma. The flavors changed constantly to the 1/2 way point, offering woodiness, nuts, cream flavor and texture. A slight pepper heat was present on the top of my tongue all the through, and a slightly sweet oil came through on the last 1/2. Slight burn issues prompted a couple touch-ups, but the draw was perfect, on the loose side with a perfect amount of resistance. Thank you very much to Bucanero Cigars for donating this for review!

I miss the old set. The neighborhood gave me something else to look at. No offense but looking at you for 10 straight minutes is a bit much. I don’t like the fact that you are smoking free cigars. I will always be suspicious that your reviews are biased. Thats my 2 cents. Cigar Obession has jumped the shark.

  • Sorry you feel that way.

Wow, that’s a little harsh(and weird). I don’t watch the reviews for what’s going on in the background. What’s wrong with him getting a few sticks for free? You didn’t have to pay for the reviews did you? Anyway, I still think they are great videos.

  • You will soon see that I don’t give biased reviews or pull punches, regardless of the source. I know I can’t change anyone’s mind, but I only give honest reviews, anyone can think what they like.

While I realize these comments are a few years old. I will say I have watched several reviews over the past few months and have made about a dozen or so purchases based on Bryan’s reviews. While I may not get all the flavors here and there or agree with every flavor of every cigar as much of it IS subjective I do find Bryan’s reviews to be consistent and over all very good and helpful. I have come to find out based on the reviews given I am not disappointed when trying them for myself.

Thanks for the reviews, hope you still love doing them as much now as when you did this one.

I’ve never had a Bucanero before but I really think from what I’ve read I need to pick some up soon, they sound like great sticks.

Posted 5/19/2014– Have smoked 2 of these since letting them acclimate for 10 days in humidor at 65% and 73 degrees F. Both have been TERRIBLE. They tunneled and after the half way point the wrappers split. No flavor whatsoever—probably because the wrapper burn just won’t keep up with the filler.

Regarding the post below about the “bad” Bucanero. Called Robert Spoden and he experienced same problems with one he had in his humidor. Then he asked me to open the second 10 pack and smoke one of those. Completely different cigar. No tunneling, no wonky burn, great flavor, med body, no overwhelming strength….GREAT stick. Robert asked me to send him 3 sticks from the bad bundle so he could deconstruct them. Thinks they might have been over humidified somewhere along the process from plant to me. Also sending me a FREE 20 pack to make up for the hassle. It was nice not to get the usual…”oh well it’s an organic product and shit happens” excuse. Great cigar and Robert was genuinely concerned about the problem. Will definitely buy more of these as long as the FDA let’s him stay in business.
