Rocky Patel Sungrown Robusto Cigar Review

Posted on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 in Cigar Reviews

Overall a medium-full bodied 5.5×5 smoke that took 1/2 the stick to develop it’s flavors. The mouthfeel and amount of smoke steadily increased to the 2nd 3rd producing a creamy textured nutty flavor with a hint of pepper on the extremely short finish. A simple smoke with a good kick.  The burn was good with no problems, and the draw was on the firm side but still very good.  I have a feeling the other vitolas would offer a better experience and I look forward to trying them someday. Available as a cosmetic factory second called X-Out Liga “B”.

Another nice review and I loved the LONG ash you had! I also wish the manufacturers would fix the band problems with glue!!! You would think they would have a better way to do them, maybe pre glued bands that the glue only activates when it touches the wrap around part or something.

I think I had 1 of these already but cant remember it very well. I might have to give another one a try someday.

I actually smoked a RP Sun Grown last Saturday while I doing an overnight smoke of some BBQ. Great cigar, however, I thought I had a big dinner (which I did) but by the time I lit up the smoke, my stomach was empty. I was so disappointed that I couldn’t finish the cigar. I liked the Sun Grown, just have to remember next time smoke it closer to completing dinner.

In all honesty: I love my Rocky P’s. For me it is the Rocky Patel Sun Grown Junior. The taste and the draw is great and they are not that expensive. Really good to enjoy myself.

One of my favorites…wait…I don’t have any favorites. I do like this one a lot. Very flavorful and aromatic. Nicely constructed and a pleasure to smoke. Pairs with just about anything!

WINNER!!! 4 STARS (out of 4 stars)!

I’m new to cigars but this and the Rocky Patel Edge Corojo to date have been my best experiences. The burn, draw and flavours I thought were amazing.

Lovely cigar. I was given a 6×60 of this asa Christmas present by someone at my B&M. Loved the flavor, nubbed until I couldn’t hold it anymore.

These robustos are a “dead lay” Im almost out of the torpedos which are sublime and complex and one of my all-time favorites. But Im overloaded on these robustos because they just dont taste like the torps at all other than the light caramel flavor. Go figure.
